This may be premature, but I wanted to share a sketch I drew of Kaeru, the protagonist in my short story THE MARK OF YATAGARASU. Kaeru is a young frog whose desire to be left alone (and not to be eaten) gets him into all sorts of trouble.
The drawing isn't perfect, but I'd like to think it captures his melancholy:

THE MARK OF YATAGARASU is part of a series of stories following Kaeru's misadventures. I plan to keep writing one or two of these every year (in between my other projects), with the eventual goal of releasing them all in some kind of collection. But a lot of that will depend on if, when, and where the individual stories are published.
